Herniation of the disc is defined as an abnormality of the intervertebral disc. This condition is also known as a “slipped,” “ruptured,” or “torn” disc. This occurs when the inner core known as the nucleus pulposus, bulges out through the annulus fibrosis, the outer layer of ligaments that surround the disc. It is the tear in the annulus fibrosis that causes pain in the area of the herniation. The pain may even spread to the area of the body that is served by the spinal nerve (like sciatica) if the protruding disc press on the spinal nerve.

There is a pair of spinal nerves between each vertebra in the spine. They branch off from the spinal cord to a specific area in the body. Any part of the skin that can experience hot and cold, pain or touch refers that sensation to the brain through one of these nerves. As a result, pressure on a spinal nerve from a herniated disc will cause pain in the part of the body that is served by that nerve.

“First I must thank God for Dr. Ginter, his staff, and the technology which has given me relief from my excruciating pain and numbness in my back and legs!
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 24 years and have dedicated myself to the improvement and optimization of patient healthcare. But now I needed HELP! Over the past few years I would experience occasional back pain which would resolve within 2-3 days rest and pain medication. Four to five weeks ago my pain accelerated to the debilitating level of 10 out of 10. The pain in my lower back was unbearable, extending into my right hip and leg with numbness in my right foot. I had great difficulty sleeping, sitting, standing and walking. I saw other doctors, who prescribed pain meds and narcotics which temporarily dulled the recurrent pain. Another chiropractic doctor’s treatments temporarily helped. My MRI revealed prominent degenerative changes of my lumbar/sacral spine with different disc bulges. I was in terrible trouble and I was “scared to death.” My regular chiropractor candidly discussed with me my options and referred me to another chiropractor for non-surgical spinal decompression. I had the consult; was impressed with the technology as explained, but unhappy with the chiropractor’s rushed and impersonal doctor/patient manner. I felt like a number instead of a person; The same was true about my consult with an orthopedic surgeon who gave me no hope!
I read an ad about Dr. Ginter and the DRX9000. Upon my initial consult I was immediately impressed with his personable doctor/patient manner, his vast knowledge and ease of explaining the technology and expectations. Furthermore, Dr. Ginter took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns! Dr. Ginter’s staff appeared just as committed as he did! I was surprised at the level of relief I got the first week of treatment. The DRX machine and the other modalities of Dr. Ginter’s advanced chiropractic methods are spectacular. After a few treatments I was walking, standing, sitting and sleeping without significant pain. My mental outlook has greatly improved. I’m much happier and feel anew! I have five more treatments. Presently my pain level is 2 out of 10 and I look forward to 0 out of 10. I definitely would recommend Dr. Ginter’s advanced methods to anyone with severe back pain. I’m so thankful.”
