The DRX 9000 has an extremely advanced computer program that actually communicates with the body 17 times per second! With these amazing computers the DRX 9000 isolates the herniated disc and creates negative intra discal pressure. By communicating with your body 17 times per second, the DRX 9000 constantly adjusts the amount of traction to the reaction of your body. When your body senses the pull of the traction before the body can react by going into spasm, the computers in the DRX 9000 have already adjusted. This allows the machine to create that negative pressure that sucks the disc material back into the disc. Water and other disc nutrients are also drawn back into the disc to aide in more complete healing. Additional spinal care and physical therapy may accompany your case in conjunction with the DRX 9000 to help you stay pain-free. Each individual is different. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your needs to ensure that you get the most out of your DRX 9000 treatments.

Herniation of the disc is defined as an abnormality of the intervertebral disc. This condition is also known as a “slipped,” “ruptured,” or “torn” disc. This occurs when the inner core known as the nucleus pulposus, bulges out through the annulus fibrosis, the outer layer of ligaments that surround the disc. It is the tear in the annulus fibrosis that causes pain in the area of the herniation. The pain may even spread to the area of the body that is served by the spinal nerve (like sciatica) if the protruding disc press on the spinal nerve.
There is a pair of spinal nerves between each vertebra in the spine. They branch off from the spinal cord to a specific area in the body. Any part of the skin that can experience hot and cold, pain or touch refers that sensation to the brain through one of these nerves. As a result, pressure on a spinal nerve from a herniated disc will cause pain in the part of the body that is served by that nerve.

To understand Lumbar Back Pain, let’s cover where the lumbar spine is and what is it designed to do. Your lumbar spine sits above the sacrum (tailbone). This area of the spine helps to not only support our body weight, but is made of the largest vertebrae giving us movement and wide range motion we use in our daily activities. Sitting down or bending over to pick up a pencil with ease is all made possible because of our lumbar vertebrae.
The most common cause of lower back pain is a lumbar strain. A Lumbar Strain is an injury to the ligament, tendons or muscles of the lower back. Spinal manipulation has been found to be very helpful in patients who do not have signs of nerve damage or nerve irritation. Nerve damage/irritation can be caused by a disruption in the spinal cord anywhere along the spine which include radiculopathy (damage to the discs between the vertebrae) and bony encroachment.
At Core Health Systems, our doctors will diagnose your back pain and put you on the path to recovery with a personalized program designed for you. Spinal decompression is an effective option for many people. When you come in for your free consultation, the doctor will evaluate you and determine if you are a candidate for spinal decompression.

It’s hard to imagine that the pain in your legs and feet could be a result of your back. Well, one cause for foot and leg pain is Sciatica. Sciatica is a condition that can cause mild to severe pain when a herniated lumbar disc compresses on the roots of the sciatic nerve which travels down the leg. The most commonly reported symptoms of sciatica are posterior thigh, lower leg and/or foot pain. At times this leg or foot pain can be much more debilitating than the accompanying lower back pain. Some people have even thought that the back pain is a result of the leg or foot condition, when really they have it “back”wards. The usual chain of events goes something like this…A patient will experience moderate to severe pain, which begins in the buttocks and can run down the leg and at times even continue to the foot. It is very common for people who suffer from sciatica to experience pain that radiates beyond their knee. This in turn leaves the patients surprised to learn that when they have gone for treatment on their legs or feet, they end up being treated for herniated discs in their BACKS. But by treating their back and relieving the pressure on their sciatic nerve, reduces if not eliminates their leg and foot pain.
