Regular traction has been around for a long time. It’s results with back pain have been minimal at best. The big problem with traction is it pulls both the muscles and the spine which can create painful muscle spasms. The DRX 9000 applies specific forces to decrease intradiscal pressure and enhance fluid exchange within the disc. This expands the space between the bones and restores nutrients and blood flow to the disc – which causes healing. Traction and inversion tables, at best, can lower the intradiscal pressure from a +90 to a +30 mmHg. Spinal Decompression is clinically proven to reduce the intradiscal pressure to between a -150 to -200 mmHg.

MRI studies comparing regular “old” traction to true spinal decompression have shown regular traction does NOT return herniated material back into the disc, while spinal decompression can!
