Question: Why is digital motion X-Ray important for diagnosis?
Answer: Traditionally, diagnosis of whiplash injuries relied upon non-moving or “static” diagnostic procedures, such as static x-rays, stress view x-rays, CT, and MRI. During these tests, patients are asked to stand or lie and be as immobile as possible. Patients hurt more when they move, and pain is commonly an indicator of injury. The majority of these non-moving diagnostic tests come out negative or unremarkable. DMX  is advantageous  in that the clinician can put the patient through varied motion exercises to see and gain a clearer understanding of the injury and give a proper diagnosis.

Question: What is the difference between Digital Motion X-Ray and regular X-Ray?
Answer: Simply put DMX allows the clinician to view  what would regularly be a still static image on a standard X-ray machine as real-time in motion capture of the desired subject area.

Question: Does Digital Motion X-Ray give off radiation?
Answer: The amount of radiation given off by DMX is significantly lower than that of traditional static X-ray. The DMX system can produce 2,700 x-ray images with the same amount of radiation as a standard x-ray machine, which gives you 6 static x-rays.

Question: Why is digital motion x-ray important for my motor vehicle accident case?
Answer: Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) helps attorneys with their depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and courtroom presentations by allowing them to objectively identify injuries that could never be seen before with static x-rays, MRI, and CT exams! Attorneys must show proof of the injury in order for you, their client to receive the compensation they deserve.  Before digital motion x-ray,it was hard to prove soft tissue damage such as a ligament injury, so many attorneys settled for a much lesser compensation amount.  But now, attorneys can show demonstrable evidence of the patient’s permanent injury using the DMX.

Question: What can you see on a digital x-ray that you can’t see on
a regular x-ray?
Answer: Digital motion x-ray can show you ligament injuries that can
only been seen while in motion unlike other tests that only allow you to see bone damage.  If your pain increases with movement, common sense tells you that your injuries should be examined “in motion” which is what the DMX allows our doctors to do.

Question: Why is digital motion x-ray so amazing?
Answer: Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) uses technology to detect
injuries like ligament damage that  because of lack of motion, could never be seen before. Static x-rays, MRI and CT  are not functional tests, so they commonly miss injuries because you are not moving for the exam.  Digital motion x-ray is the opposite–it  finds injuries that you can see only when you move.

Question: Why does Core Health Systems use digital motion x-ray?
Answer:  Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) helps our doctors make a fast and
accurate diagnosis to determine if our patient’s spines are moving properly or not.   This high tech tool enables our doctors to see exactly what is causing the patient’s pain and if there is any ligament damage.  You can’t do that with normal x-rays or MRI or CT or anything else for patients with ligament damage. In addition, Digital Motion X-Ray allows our doctors to:
-Make an informed and reliable diagnosis
-Provide proof of injury that regular x-rays could not
-Increase patient compliance and understanding of their injuries
-Detect ligament injuries objectively without guess work

Core Health Systems utlizes the Digital Motion X-Ray manufactured by DMX Works.  It is a key diagnostic tool at our pratice enabling our doctors to find out exactly what is going on with the patient.  The Motion X-Ray is unique because, unlike a traditional x-ray, it shows how the bones and joints are moving.  Watch this video to see an example of Digital Motion X-Ray.
